Reinstallation of Two Cable Crane Cables in Khersan 3 Dam
Two long cables called Cable Cranes, which were used in Karun 4 concrete dam for the concrete construction stage of the dam body, were successfully released by Payab Zamzam Company and reinstalled in Khersan 3 dam. These long cables, which are 97 mm in diameter, with a force of 180 tons, were stretched synchronously by two jacks of 400 tons capacity and installed on the local steel structure. In this operation, the cables are stretched about 70 meters to reach the desired profile. The operation was carried out with great care to prevent the parts from spinning and the force imbalance on the sides of the cable.

Continuation of the excavation monitoring operation of the Jahan Mall commercial complex in Mashhad
This operation, which began at the beginning of 2023, is aimed at reading the movements of the ground around the pit of the Jahan Mall Grand Complex in the holy city of Mashhad. In addition to the mapping method, the behavior of the pit is through 11 inclinometers that are installed around the pit and up to a depth of 24.5 meters. Every month, the readings of these holes are done with the help of the inclinometer of the Payab Zamzam Company, and a written illustrated report is presented to the employer. So far, the movement of the wall has generally been in a safe area, but in some places where the movements are far from the usual limits, the necessary warnings have been given to the employer.

Installation and reading of Inclinometer in Chitgar Park, Tehran Metro Line 10
Following the continuation of tunneling operations on line 10 of the Tehran metro, it was located in the area of Chitgar Park to record the lateral movements of the ground with the help of a inclinometer tool. Following the signing of the tool purchase contract with Payab Zamzam Company, a number of ABS casings were installed around the route and station of the mentioned line and the operator was trained in data gathering operations. The inclinometer of this project is produced by Payab Zamzam Company and it is planned to record the lateral movement of the ground by performing continuous surveys and ensure the security of the tunnel and the areas around the station.

Installation and reading of tiltmeter, strain gauges and inclinometers in the pit of Andarzgoo Street
Following the start of excavation operations on a land located on Andarzgoo Boulevard, a number of tiltmeters, strain gauges and inclinometers were installed by Payab Zamzam Company around the said pit and the employer was trained in data gathering operations. The tiltmeter device of this project is produced by Payab Zamzam Company and it is planned to record the lateral movement of the pit by performing continuous harvesting and ensure the security of the surrounding structures as well as the wall of the pit.

Beginning of executive operations and installation of instrumentation on the conveyor belt structure No. 2 of Sarcheshmeh copper mine
Following manufacturing of the instruments intended to be installed on the conveyor belt structure, which includes digital two-axis tiltmeter, strain gauge, and accelerometer, their installation operations in the project began. The executive operation began with the installation of ducts and cables and the installation of plates related to the connection of the mentioned tools. The installation of tools, which is done at very high heights, is sometimes done with the help of specialized (rappelman) personnel and by hanging from the structure and installing it on the columns of the structure. After the installation of the cables is completed and the tools are connected to the structure, all sensors are connected to the panel and the automatic data acquisition system (DAS), and then the software engineerings are done. The data generated from these instruments is collected and stored in a special room and sent wirelessly to the central control room. A software will also be prepared that will inform the management of any failure in the structural elements online.

Continuation of the post tensioning operation of the concrete deck at the Great Bridge of the Northern Karaj Freeway
The post tensioning operation of the Great Freeway Bridge of the Northern Bypass of Karaj continued. The executive operation of the improvement and modification of Shushtar stay cable bridge began
The improvement and modification of the stay cable bridge in Shushtar, which is the first cable bridge implemented in the country, began in the summer of 2024 with the site setup and the construction of access carriages under the bridge deck. At the same time as these preparations were made, the order for new seismic isolators, which are to replace the current neoprenes, was given to OVM. After receiving these separators, the bridge deck is raised with the help of flat jacks and these parts are placed under the deck. Also, all the covers of 72 anchors of this bridge were opened and the accuracy and integrity of the relevant cables and wedges were inspected. In addition, the stress of the cables was determined by the vibration measurement method. In this method, which is performed for the first time in Iran by Payab Zamzam Company, the cables vibrate and after measuring the vibration modes and the natural frequencies of this vibration, the amount of force of the cables is measured. The measurement of cable vibration is done by the company’s accelerometers. Other executive activities of the bridge, Neoperene replacement, and repairing the worn concrete sections, etc. are also progressing.

The Karun Island cable bridge underwent modifications last year (such as replacing torn cables and jamming the pylon). The continuation of this operation (due to the filling of the contract ceiling) was postponed until this year. Instrumentation and monitoring of the conveyor belt No. 2 of Sarcheshmeh copper mine started
The structure containing conveyor belt No. 2 of Sarcheshmeh copper mine, which has a length of 155 meters, a width of 6 meters, and a height of 32 meters above the ground, is a huge truss structure. The high speed of the conveyor belt and mineral ores over it and the need to continuos operation of the strip to supply continuous feed to the factory have highlighted the need to monitor the structure of the belt, which is affected by static and dynamic forces. In this regard, a contract has been signed with Payab Zamzam Company for the installation of a number of static and dynamic instrumentation. The data generated from these instruments is collected and stored in a special room and is sent wirelessly to the central control room. A software will also be prepared that will inform the management of any damage in the structural elements online.

The contract for the treatment and repair of the Shushtar cable bridge was awarded to Payab Zamzam Company
The cable bridge of Shushtar, which is the first cable bridge implemented in the country, needs to be inspected, repaired, and corrected for its long-term service and the occurrence of some abnormal behaviors. Due to the history of Payab Zamzam Company in the supply of materials and the implementation of cable bridges, this contract was awarded to Payab Company. The Dez Dam Production and Operation Company purchased some precision instruments in order to monitor the concrete structure of the dam and the rocks around it. These tools include the VW and the corresponding reading loggers, all of which were submitted to the project in March 2024. It has been decided that by purchasing and deploying an automatic data acquisition device and using a wireless transmission system, the collected data will be transferred to the central monitoring room. The installation of the above-mentioned tools will be completed in April 2024.

Post tensioning of the concrete deck of the Great Bridge of the Northern Karaj Freeway
The Great Freeway Bridge of the Northern Bypass of Karaj is being built on the Karaj River and near the Bileghan Bridge. This huge bridge, which will be the second largest bridge in Iran, is supposed to become the symbol of the metropolis of Karaj. This cable bridge, which has a large middle span with a length of 173 meters and two side spans with a length of 97 meters, is located on two tall piers of 70 and 88 meters. After the lifting of the deck construction mold (Shario) by Payab Zamzam Company and the completion of the mold assembly, the deck construction operation by Azaran Company and the bridge post tensioning operation by Payab Zamzam Company and by nearly 20 executive personnel began in January. Post tensioning operations include the installation of steel ducts, prefabricated anchor blocks, the installation of steel strands and applying tension to them, and then grout injection into the ducts is part of the description of the current post tensioning services. The entire construction of the bridge deck is expected to take 14 months.

Release of Two Cable Crane Cables in Karun 4 Dam

The Bird Garden, which has been built east of Tehran on Shahid Babaei Highway, has a huge metal net that is located on a large valley and has become a habitat for many birds. Supply and installation of cable tendons in the Fix Point structure of Khersan 3 dam
Khersan 3 Dam is one of the tallest concrete dams in the country that is under construction. The concreting operation of the body of this dam will be carried out by a cable system called Cable Crane. The cables that carry the concrete carriage are connected to the Fix Point structure on one side and have a movable connection to Cariage Way on the other side of the valley. Fix Point concrete structure is sewn to the mountain with the help of 12 30-meter long tendons consisting of six 0.6-inch steel strands. The supply of tendons and their installation and stressing is being done by Payab Zamzam Company.

Shario Mold Lifting Operations in the Great Bridge of the Northern Karaj Freeway

These piers have already been built and the deck mold (Shario) is being assembled on them. Heavy lifting is used to lift the floor part of the Shario mold that has a lot of weight. The lifting operation of the Shario floor mold has been entrusted to Payab Zamzam Company. This operation is performed simultaneously by 4 number of 250-ton jacks and 4 numbers of 5 stranded anchorages. The jacks move simultaneously and with the help of a precise two-axis tiltmeter with an accuracy of 0.001 degrees, the mold is lifted in a perfectly aligned manner. The lifting of the first of the 4 molds is being completed, and the whole operation is expected to be completed within 1 month.

Cable Crane Cable Release Operation in Karun 4 Dam
The common method in concreting dams is the use of long cables called cable cranes, which are installed between two valleys and concrete baskets travel longitudinally on them. One end of these cables is fixed and the other side is fixed on a movable rail system. Thus, it is possible to pour concrete in different X and Y directions. These cables are generally two and are very thick and strong, under a lot of tension. After the completion of the concrete pouring operation, these cables can be released and used in other projects. The operation of releasing Cable Crane cables in Karun 4 dam and reinstalling it in Khersan 3 dam has been entrusted to Payab Zamzam Company. Preparations have been made for the release of cables and this work will be completed within two weeks.

Instrumentation of buildings adjacent to Qom metro
Some buildings adjacent to Qom metro have been damaged after excavations. The amount of damage in some buildings has been significant. One of these cases is being monitored by 10 one-dimensional cack meter and 3 two-dimensional tilt meter by Payab Zamzam Company. The operation began in June and is scheduled to continue for some time to monitor the development (or unchange) of the cracks and movements of the building.

Supply of 300-meter water level meter
In order to determine the water level in the holes of the Karun 3 dam project, a depth meter with 300 meters of graduated cable was constructed and delivered to the employer (Karun 3 Dam and Hydropower Plant Production and Operation Management Company). Due to the long length of the required cable, an attempt was made to lighten the pulley to make it easier to transport this tool. With the built-in mechanism and modification applied to the structure of the standard pulleys, the weight of the assemble made was limited to 7 kg.

Installation of crack meter and tilt meter on the concrete wall at the entrance to the Tehran-Shomal Freeway

Stress Measurement Operations by Flat Jack Method in Angoran Mine
As part of the control of the extraction method in the underground part of the Angoran mine, on-site stress measurement operations were carried out in 3 points of the underground tunnels of this mine. The test method was based on the flat jack method and stress measurement was performed on both the roof of the tunnel and its wall. Also, two three-axis crack meters with vibrating wire sensors were installed. According to the recorded stress values in these points, the technical office department can optimize the maintenance operations in this mine.

Restoration of Karun Island Cable Bridge in Ahvaz
The bridge of Karun Island connects the beautiful recreational island of Karun to the city of Ahvaz. The bridge is designed as a combination of metal arches and 12-stranded cables. Unfortunately, during several cases of overloading on this bridge, a number of its cables have been torn and the bridge has been endangered. The contract for repairing the cables and replacing the damaged parts and adjusting the force in all the cables of the bridge was assigned to Payab Zamzam Company. This operation will be carried out within a month, which will be completed in March 2023.

Supply of water level meter and magnetic settlement meter for Karkheh Dam
In order to complete the instrumentation used in Karkheh Dam and perform behavioral monitoring routines in this dam, two water level depth detectors and magnetic settlement meters were delivered to the project by Payab Zamzam Company. Due to the limitations in the size of piezometric tubes and the way of reading the settlement meters, special dimensions were ordered for both probes of the device, and the production of these instruments was custom made. The diameter of the water level meter probe was 10 mm and its length was 100 mm. For the case of settlement meter, the diameter of 17 mm and the length of 230 mm were specially produced.

Supply of anchoring materials and reinforcement of Tunnel 24 on Tehran-Shomal Freeway
Tunnel No. 24 is located in Segment 2 of the Tehran-Shomal Freeway. The supply of cable tendons in this tunnel and the installation, injection and stressing of these tendons were the responsibility of Payab Zamzam Company. In this section, a number of load gauges and elongometers were also installed next to the tendons. With the help of the combination of the installed instrumentation and the tendons used, a lot of confidence has been created for the method of implementation to achieve the stability of the tunnels.

Providing Instrumentation for Monitoring Isfahan Metro Station
Subway stations are very large empty spaces that must have a very high degree of reliability due to the high traffic of people in them. In this project, which is defined in the Isfahan metro station, a number of two-axis tilt meters with internal thermometers were used to monitor and control the possible rotation of different parts of the structure. This instrument is mounted on the wall of the station and reports the amount of rotation and deviation from the original position in two orthogonal directions with an accuracy of one thousandth of a degree. Also, a suitable data logger for the reading of the tilt meter has also been delivered to the project.

Providing Instrumentation for Monitoring the Excavation System of Qom City
Urban pits are generally dug in high-rise buildings in order to create subsurface floors. In cases where excavation is carried out in the soil, it is very important to ensure the stability of the pit walls. Usually, there are other buildings in the vicinity of urban pits that should not be threatened or damaged during the implementation of the project. Using instrumentation is a reliable way to predict any risk in the shortest possible time. In this excavation project, which uses an anchoring and nailing reinforcement system, the monitoring of the force in the reinforcement system was done by a number of 80-ton load cells. Also, the supply of a single-purpose data logger in this project has been the responsibility of Payab Zamzam Company.

Supply of Instrumentation for Tunnels of Segment 1 of Khorramabad – Mamoulan – Poldokhtar Axis
The maintenance system in most intercity tunnels includes concrete lining. A pressure cell is usually used to know the amount of tension in lining. Also, convergence measurement is used to measure the displacement of the tunnel walls. In this project, Payab Zamzam Company has supplied a number of electric pressure cells along with a digital convergence meter and the related data logger. Using these tools, it is possible to ensure the amount of pressures applied from the ground to the lining on a regular basis and that these stresses remain within the permissible limits.

Supply of Instrumentation for Monitoring the Foundation of Se-Balutak Bridge
One of the important points in bridge construction is the foundation under the bridge pillars. Since the weight of the bridge structure and the means of transportation on it enter the columns and from there to the foundation through the deck, foundations are one of the sensitive points in bridge construction projects. The purpose of this behavior study is to investigate the stability of the foundation of one of the pillars of the Se-Balutak Bridge, which is located near the lake and the water reservoir. Any risk of foundation movement causes movement and rotation in the bridge pylon, so the probable rotation of the pylon is also monitored by installing a number of tilt meters.
As mentioned, to measure the movement of the foundation and monitor the amount of pressure and water level in the surrounding rocks and the rotation of the pylon, two-axis inclinometer, an electric piezometer, a 40-meter extensometer with 5 anchors and a suitable data logger are used. These tools are supplied to the project by Payab Zamzam Company.

Behavior of Tunnel No. 11 of Tehran-Shomal Freeway
Tunnel No. 11, which is located on the route of the Tehran-Shomal Freeway, is a tunnel with a low overhead and on the side of the valley. The blocky rock mass and the lack of overflow, which led to weathering of the rock mass, caused movements and led to some cracks in its concrete coating. Also, a number of ground anchors have been used to strengthen the rock mass and prevent the movement of discontinuities. In this project, a number of 3-axis crack meters and 40 and 25-meter extensometers as well as a number of 150-ton load cells have been used to monitor these movements. Extensometers are installed inside and outside of the tunnel and load cells are placed on the ground anchors outside the tunnel. Crack meters are also installed on the cracks created in the tunnel lining.

Behavior of the Sixth Bridge of Tehran-Shomal Freeway
The sixth bridge of ShomalTehran Freeway is perhaps the largest bridge on this route. The bridge system is made of composite steel and concrete, and its deck, which is a hollow box, is reinforced by external steel strands. Bridge monitoring has been done by Payab Zamzam Company in the form of supplying and installing cable strain gauges, deck tilt meters and data acquisition systems.
The purpose of the monitoring is to determine the amount of force change in the external cables of the deck as well as the amount of rotation of the deck and movement in the cracks of the structure. The measurement of all sensors (including new instruments and old instruments) is done through an automatic data collection system. All bridge sensors are automatically read every 2 hours a day for 24 hours a day and the relevant data is stored for future use and analysis. This data is then routed by fiber optic to the employer’s control room.

Behavior of Sheet Walls of Tehran-Shomal Freeway
In many parts of the Tehran-Shomal Freeway, the side of the road has been protected by the installation of high concrete walls (known as the sheet pile wall). These walls consist of a number of concrete columns and intermittent concrete sheets, which collectively provide a suitable cover for roadside protection. In order to monitor the performance of these walls, a number of tilt meters are being performed in parts of the route and its readings are being carried out by appropriate loggers. The tilt meters have two sensors to record rotation in two directions and with an accuracy of one thousandth of a degree, and the instrument is equipped with a built-in thermometer to record and correct the effect of temperature.

Behavior of Reinforced Soil Wall of Tehran-Shomal Freeway
At kilometer 14700 of the Tehran-Shomal Freeway, a very high wall has been built in front of the village of Sangan. The wall is of the type of stone layer without bonding materials and is built in a staircase shape. Since there are many residential areas and gardens under this wall, the stability and probable movements of this wall have been monitored by a number of tilt meters. The tilt meters have two sensors to record rotation in two directions and with an accuracy of one thousandth of a degree, and the instrument is equipped with a built-in thermometer to record and correct the effect of temperature. Due to the difficulty of accessing the installation site, the installation operation was very sensitive and difficult, and a special mobile platform was designed and built by Payab Zamzam Company to do the work. Currently, all devices are being read and a high reliability factor has been recorded for the wall.

Behavior of Sungun Copper Mine
The behavior of one of the high slopes overlooking the Sungun copper mine crusher plant (one of the largest active copper mines in the country) has been done by Payab Zamzam Company. This slope, which has a height of 80 meters, has been built in several steps. The materials of the site are made up of small and highly weathered and fractured stones. The slope reinforcement system is designed to use monobars with a diameter of 40 mm in the form of nails. The installation of 20 load cells on selected monobars is part of the monitoring of this wall. Also, a number of inclinometers are installed in different areas of the slope and its surroundings in parallel with slope monitoring. All instruments are connected to the terminal boxes in the middle steps by cabling and the reading operations are carried out centrally but manually with a portable logger. It is planned that in the next step, the reading system will be automatic and non-manual in order to increase the accuracy of readings and eliminate human errors. Also, due to the cold weather and snowfall in this area, in some seasons of the year, it is not easy to access the place for manual reading, so having an automatic data collection system can be a great help to the project.

Behavior of Mirdamad pit in Tehran
Payab Zamzam Company carried out behavior monitoring in the Mirdamad region by supplying rotation tilt meters. Ensuring the stability of the side wall of the surrounding streets is one of the goals of this behavior. In this project, a number of two-axis tilt meters were installed on the building adjacent to the pit and its cable was transferred to a suitable place for reading. The instrument also has a built-in temperature sensor and simultaneous thermal corrections are applied to the data. Also, for added protection, the tools are housed in a suitable protective box. The data collected so far indicate the proper stability of the structure and no destructive movements have been reported so far.
